Volunteers
Volunteer expos, university clubs, retirement and newcomer groups, corporate volunteering days, community Facebook groups.
For New Zealand charities and not-for-profits
Backkr shows New Zealand not-for-profits where future donors, volunteers and partners already gather, in your community and online, with a simple plan built for a team of one.
No big budget. No marketing degree. More time for the mission.
The reality for small charities
Your supporters are out there – at community events, in local businesses, in online groups and in workplaces that want to give back. But finding them takes research time small teams don't have. So the same small circle carries the organisation.
Your cause already has more supporters out there. They just haven't met you yet.
Where supporters and partners are
Every kind of supporter has its own rooms. These are where they tend to show up.
Volunteer expos, university clubs, retirement and newcomer groups, corporate volunteering days, community Facebook groups.
Community events and markets, school and church communities, interest groups linked to your cause, local online groups.
Chambers of commerce, business breakfasts, BNI chapters, businesses with community or sustainability programmes.
Rotary, Lions, Zonta and similar clubs, plus local community networks that want a cause to get behind.
Local festivals, awareness weeks, sports events, podcasts and community radio where your story gets heard.
And here's a quiet advantage: Backkr's other audiences – advisers, agents, law firms, trade businesses – are local businesses that often want a cause to support. The right introduction can work both ways.

Turn every conversation at a stall or event into a tracked follow-up, so a chat becomes a volunteer, donor or partner.
Keep the relationships you start in one place. Room-by-room impact reporting is coming soon.

Impact you can show the board
Coming soon – reporting that reframes what you did into impact you can show funders and the board.
And to be plain about what we don't do: Backkr doesn't find or write grant applications. It's for finding and keeping the people who support the mission.
Backkr helps New Zealand charities and not-for-profits find more donors, volunteers and partners without a big marketing budget. It pinpoints the community events, groups, businesses and online spaces where people who care about their cause already gather. It then gives a simple plan to show up, tell their story and follow up.
Built for the comms, marketing or fundraising person at a small-to-mid New Zealand charity – roughly 2–30 staff – or the general manager doing it themselves. Backkr is Christchurch-based and women-owned, founded in 2025 by Kate Radcliffe-Reid.
Marketing claims fall under the Fair Trading Act 1986, and supporter and donor data is handled under the Privacy Act 2020. Registered charities have their own reporting duties with Charities Services, and nothing in Backkr blurs them.
Start with where people who care already gather. Volunteers show up at volunteer expos, university clubs, corporate volunteering days and community Facebook groups. Donors are at community events and markets, school and church communities, and local online groups. Backkr shows a small New Zealand charity exactly which events, groups, businesses and online spaces connect them with future supporters, then gives a simple plan to show up, tell the story and follow up.
Look for businesses that already want a cause to support. Chambers of commerce, business breakfasts, BNI chapters and businesses with community or sustainability programmes are all rooms where potential sponsors gather. Backkr identifies the businesses, service clubs and organisations likely to sponsor or partner with a cause like yours, so a one-person team can build those relationships without an agency.
Yes. Backkr is built for the person doing marketing, comms or fundraising at a small-to-mid New Zealand charity, often part-time and often alone. It replaces guesswork and scattered research with a clear picture of where supporters gather and a simple weekly plan, so marketing stops eating programme time and every dollar goes further.
No, and it's worth saying plainly. Backkr doesn't find or write grant applications. It helps you find the people who already care about your cause – donors, volunteers, partners and event-goers – and gives you a plan to reach and follow up with them.
Backkr is designed for exactly that situation. Instead of hours of research, you get the events, groups and partners connected to your cause in one place, plus a simple weekly plan. Most of the work is showing up and following up – and the follow-ups are tracked for you, so nothing gets lost between the event and Monday morning.
The comms, marketing or fundraising person at a New Zealand charity with roughly 2–30 staff, or the general manager doing it themselves. It isn't built for large organisations with a full marketing team, and it doesn't replace your donor database or grant-management tools.
Less time guessing, more time on the mission
